SBS 3rd Party Utilities download site.

As this forum gets busier the early posts containing tools, data or tips are getting lost in the crowd. This is a pity because there is some good stuff around in here - but new users can easily miss the treasures within if they don't dig around a bit. It's a pity we don't have a dedicated File Library..

I have now set up a web page for my own and 3rd party Kinetic utilities. The UK Outline/Waypoint Data Set is probably the most well known of my files but there is also a similar data set for Ireland - and a handful of other bits and pieces that users may find useful. You can find the page at:

Kinetic SBS Utilities Page

No doubt this posting will get swallowed up shortly too. :)

Well I could sticky it, but I'm not sure the title is right for a sticky thread.

What I might like to do, if I could, is perhaps put some kind of link to your site here...

http://www.kineticavionics.co.uk/downloads_auth.php

...in the Resources section.

Would that be okay?

That is a nice idea Will and I thank you for the thought.

I'm trying to think ahead here because it would be very nice to have a recognised web site for all SBS add-on authors to use and fire their data off to. I know I can't do it here but there must be some kind soul who may have web space going spare for us "unofficial" authors.

Better to have all the data under one roof than have endless links to other pages. It would keep each author aware of what others are doing too.

If Kinetic cannot help I can provide a dedicated site for resource files. It will have Google Ads on it but will be free. Some controls over uploading will be needed but I am sure something can be worked out :)

Just a quickie to say thank you for all your hard work - it is very much appreciated... now if I could only persuade the Mrs that chores are just chores!

Hi Bones

Many thanks indeed for your efforts. I often have to find the original messages to refer to again when things go wrong. It is surprising how deep they can get buried over the weeks. Your idea will greatly simplify things. Thanks also to Will for his offer of web space, subject to higher approval.

Regards

Peter

I am thinking of adding further links for the other useful facilities that are buried away in the Resources postings but I will have to ask each author first. ThreeMiles has done some excellent work, as has Dave Reid, Sejo (Google Earth and GINFO scripts) and also Leland with his BSImport and BSManager utilities.

I'll have to go through the postings as there are probably others I've forgotten.

OK - I've now pulled out almost every tweak or utility from the Resources section and added them to the web page.

For 3rd party utilities I have given each:
A basic description,
Identified the author,
Provided a link to the relevant post on this forum,
Shown the location the file can be downloaded from.

There are no downloads available from my site (except my own) - I have just provided links to the files as given in the original posts.

If someone could send me a screenshot for the BSI and BSManager interfaces I would appreciate it - I can't find any in the forum.

Another to add:

http://www.aerodata.biz/updates/Mode_S_Histories.zip

This is Aerodata's tool for removing historic (sic) data.

Hi Dave,

Yep, I saw that just as I was making the list and added it to the bottom but without a definite link (it wasn't out just then). I'll amend it now.

Link repeated to stop everyone having to scroll to the top of this page:

Hi Bones, I have just produced Outline files for the Military Radar Corridors (Spadeadam, Tilni, Valley, Deancross, Gamston, Lichfield, Daventry, Westcott and Swindon).....is there anywhere that I can upload the file to, or would you want add it to your Military Outline file/s?

Regards, Mark C
