Radio Scanner Interface

Kinetic Avionic Products Limited (KAPL) has enhanced its award-winning SBS-1 Real-Time Virtual Radar system by adding a new interface mechanism for connectivity to a range of popular radio scanners thus allowing users to watch aircraft and listen to air traffic in a single consolidated action.

Now, with two mouse clicks, an attached radio scanner will be automatically tuned to the frequencies selected. Frequencies can either be entered freehand or associated with waypoints.

The latest release ships with interface libraries for the ICOM PCR1000,PCR 1500,IC7000, IC8500, the AOR 8200, AOR 8600 and the AOR 5000

Installation Instructions

To access the Radio Interface functionality on the Basestation software, three steps are required.

  1. Update the firmware for your SBS-1
  2. Upgrade the Basestation software to the latest version
  3. Enter the Radio License Key into Basestation
